PCL high-rate DAF
The PCL series is a high-rate dissolved air flotation (DAF) system for industrial wastewater pretreatment and polishing at high flows. It is used where space is limited and reliable sludge handling is important. A plate-pack increases the separation area inside a compact tank. This enables efficient removal of TSS and FOG while protecting downstream treatment.

How the PCL series works
The PCL series is designed for high-flow duties where space is limited. Its vertical tank layout allows high hydraulic loading within a compact footprint.
A cross‑flow plate pack increases the effective separation area inside the tank. This supports stable separation performance at higher loading rates without increasing the tank size.
Floated solids are skimmed from the surface and passed over an in-tank dewatering grid. This allows excess water to drain before the float is discharged to the sludge hopper.
Clarified water exits the lower part of the tank and is routed to downstream biological treatment, polishing, or discharge, depending on the process layout.
Applications and use cases
Food and beverage - reduce FOG and solids and manage peak production cleaning loads
Petrochemical and oil refining - support robust separation of suspended solids and oily contaminants
Pulp, paper and board - recover fibers for reuse, generating resource savings while reducing COD load
High-load industrial wastewater - manage elevated FOG levels and complex contaminant loads
Municipal pretreatment and sludge thickening - remove algae or solids before desalination, or polish sludge after biological treatment
Benefits (commercial and operational)

Frequently asked questions
When should I choose a high-rate DAF system?
Choose high-rate DAF when flows are high and footprint is constrained, and you need predictable clarification performance.
What is the role of the plate pack?
The plate pack increases effective separation area and supports high-rate operation without expanding the tank footprint.
Does the PCL series require chemical dosing?
Many duties benefit from coagulant and flocculant dosing to improve capture of fine solids and emulsified FOG. The approach is selected based on influent variability and treatability testing where required.
How is float dryness improved in the PCL series?
An integrated dewatering/thickening grid allows floated solids to release water before discharge to the sludge hopper. This improves float quality and reduces downstream dewatering load depending on the sludge line design.
Can the system be configured for brownfield plants?
Yes. Layout, access, whitewater skid, and instrumentation can be configured around existing civil structures and tie-in points, with options for platforms and covers where required.
